Hughes Technology LLC
Privacy Policy
Hughes Technology LLC is a Kentucky limited liability company based in Murray, Kentucky. This policy explains what information we collect through hughesit.us, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Effective date: August 23, 2026
Who we are
Hughes Technology LLC (“Hughes Technology,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an information technology company operating from Murray, Kentucky. We provide IT services and support, managed web hosting, business phone systems, website design, and digital marketing to businesses in Calloway County and across western Kentucky.
This policy covers the public website at hughesit.us and its subpages. It does not cover services we operate under a separate written agreement with a client — hosting, managed IT, or phone service — where the terms of that agreement govern how client data is handled.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly
We collect only what you type into a form on this site. There is no account system and no login. Depending on the form, that means:
- Contact form: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, company name, the service you are interested in, and whatever you write in the message field.
- Newsletter signup: your email address.
- Job application form: your name, email address, phone number, and the answers you provide about your experience and availability.
- Landing page and quote request forms: your name, email address, phone number, and company name.
Please do not send passwords, account credentials, payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, or health information through these forms. They are not built for that, and we will ask you to send anything sensitive by a more appropriate channel.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our web server records the IP address, request time, requested URL, referring page, and browser user-agent string for requests to the site. These are ordinary operational logs used for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
- Submission metadata. When you submit a form, the originating IP address and submission time are included in the notification we receive, so we can identify and block abuse.
- Campaign parameters. If you arrive from an advertisement or a tracked link, the URL may carry campaign parameters (commonly labeled utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign). If you then submit a form, those parameters are passed along with it so we know which campaign produced the inquiry.
Cookies and similar technologies
We keep this deliberately minimal. The site does not use cookies to build a profile of you.
- Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. It stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
- Google reCAPTCHA. Every form on this site is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which sets cookies and collects device and browsing signals in order to distinguish real people from automated submissions. This is described in more detail below.
- Analytics and advertising cookies. We may use analytics and advertising cookies — including Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, and the Meta (Facebook) pixel — to measure how the site is used and how our own advertising performs. Where these are active, they may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. See “Analytics and advertising” below.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them will not prevent you from reading the site, though form submission may fail if reCAPTCHA is unable to run.
Google reCAPTCHA
This site is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam and automated abuse. When you use a form, reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information — including device and application data and browsing behavior — and sends it to Google for analysis. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service. We receive only a pass/fail score from Google — we do not receive the underlying signals it collects.
Analytics and advertising
We may use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how they arrive at the site, and Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) advertising tools to run and measure our own advertising. Where these are enabled, they may collect information such as pages viewed, time on page, approximate geographic location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and whether a visit resulted in a form submission or phone call.
We use this to measure marketing effectiveness, not to identify individual visitors. We do not attempt to link analytics data back to a named person. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can adjust ad personalization in Google My Ad Center and in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to your inquiry, quote request, or support question.
- Prepare proposals and deliver the services you have asked us about or engaged us for.
- Evaluate job applications and communicate with applicants.
- Send our newsletter, if you specifically asked for it. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe option.
- Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website, and detect and block spam and abuse.
- Understand which marketing efforts are working, in aggregate.
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations that apply to us.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
We do not sell your information
Hughes Technology does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Vendors that operate parts of our infrastructure on our behalf — email delivery, hosting, spam filtering, analytics, and advertising platforms — receive only what they need to perform that function.
- Legal requirements. When we are required to disclose information by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our clients, or the safety of others.
- Business transfer. If the business or its assets are sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We would post notice of that on this page.
How long we keep it
Form submissions arrive as email to our business inbox and are retained in the ordinary course of business correspondence. In practice:
- Inquiries that do not become engagements are kept as long as they remain commercially useful, and are deleted on request.
- Client records are kept for the duration of the engagement and afterward for as long as needed to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations.
- Job applications are kept for up to two years so we can contact you about future openings, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
- Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs are rotated and discarded on a routine schedule.
Security
The site is served exclusively over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate, form endpoints are rate-limited and protected by reCAPTCHA, and our servers are patched and monitored as a matter of routine. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we treat the security of this site the same way we treat our clients’.
Your choices and rights
You can contact us at any time, at the address below, to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we are required to keep.
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter — either by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by emailing us.
- Ask us to stop contacting you entirely.
We honor these requests regardless of where you live. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional statutory rights; we will apply those where they are required to us. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Children’s privacy
This site is a business-to-business website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
Our site and our blog link to other websites — including clients’ sites, service providers, and reference material. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services and tools change. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
