The challenge
Residents of Murray and Calloway County heard about local emergencies late and second-hand. Raw scanner audio is hard to follow, and once a transmission is missed it is gone.
A local news product also has to survive traffic spikes exactly when something big happens, and pay for itself without a newsroom.
What we built
We stream the local radio, transcribe every transmission with AI, summarize recent activity in plain English, and geocode callouts onto a live map. Alerts go out by push, SMS, or email for incidents near the addresses a subscriber cares about.
A daily AI digest publishes itself every day, Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley conditions bring in a second audience, and the business runs on premium subscriptions plus self-serve local advertising. There is a native iOS app alongside the web app.
